What is a CT Scan?
The Hitachi Supria CT system creates detailed cross-sectional images of the body within a short scanning time. It is especially valuable when doctors need a rapid overview of internal organs, bones, blood vessels or injuries. The 128-slice imaging capability supports thin-section data and detailed reconstruction for clinical interpretation.

When is it needed?
How to prepare
- Contrast studies may require clinical screening and recent kidney-function results
- Inform the team about allergies, asthma, kidney disease or previous contrast reactions
- Inform staff about pregnancy or possible pregnancy before CT
- Remove metal objects from the scan area when requested
Advanced & special studies
Depending on the clinical question, the CT team can use thin-section imaging, timed contrast acquisition and multiplanar or 3D reconstruction to examine specific organs and blood vessels in greater detail.
HRCT Chest
High-resolution thin-section imaging of the lungs for conditions such as interstitial lung disease, fibrosis, bronchiectasis, infection and occupational lung changes.
Emergency Brain and Stroke CT
Rapid non-contrast brain imaging, with CT angiographic assessment when advised, to look for bleeding, major-vessel blockage, injury or other urgent abnormalities.
CT Angiography (CTA)
Contrast-enhanced imaging of arteries and veins in regions such as the brain and neck, aorta, kidneys and limbs to assess narrowing, blockage, aneurysm, thrombosis or vascular injury.
CT Pulmonary Angiography (CTPA)
A focused contrast study of the pulmonary arteries, most commonly requested when pulmonary embolism is suspected.
CT Aortogram
Detailed evaluation of the thoracic and abdominal aorta for aneurysm, dissection, narrowing, trauma or post-treatment follow-up.
CT Urography and CT KUB
Evaluation of the kidneys, ureters and urinary bladder for stones, obstruction, blood in urine, masses and other urinary-tract concerns.
Multiphase Liver and Pancreatic CT
Timed contrast phases help characterise liver lesions, pancreatic conditions and selected abdominal tumours, and support treatment planning.
CT Enterography
Specialised small-bowel imaging used to assess inflammatory bowel disease, bowel-wall thickening, obstruction and selected intestinal conditions.
CT PNS and Temporal Bone
Fine-detail imaging of the paranasal sinuses, facial bones, middle ear and inner-ear structures for ENT and surgical planning.
3D Bone and Joint Reconstruction
Multiplanar and three-dimensional views can support evaluation of complex fractures, joint injuries and pre-operative planning.
CT Calcium Scoring
A non-contrast heart study that estimates coronary calcium burden; offered only where the ECG-gating option and required protocol are enabled.
Patient advantage
Fast image acquisition can reduce the time a patient needs to remain on the scan table, which is particularly helpful during emergency evaluation or when movement is difficult. CT uses X-rays. The scan protocol is selected according to the clinical question, and exposure is kept as low as reasonably achievable while maintaining diagnostic image quality.

Contrast studies require clinical screening and may require recent kidney-function results. The exact protocol is selected by the radiologist according to the patient’s condition, previous reports and installed software options.
