What is a TMT / Stress Test?
A TMT records your heart's electrical activity while you walk on a treadmill. It helps detect blocked arteries and exercise-induced heart problems that may not appear at rest.
When is it needed?
Chest pain on exertion or suspected blockages
Family history of heart disease
Screening for diabetics and hypertensives
Fitness assessment before strenuous activity
How to prepare
- Light meal 2 hours before; avoid heavy food
- Wear comfortable shoes and loose clothing
- Avoid caffeine and smoking before the test
- Carry a list of current medications
